Is it OK to drink water that's a bit white due to softener? - shower water softener

We have a water filter several months ago that filters all water - even water from the shower. It also includes a water softener, which helps to better tasting water. However, it is only white when the water is coming, and sometimes I'm not going to go work for a while, but now does not work. My parents say it is normal that there is such that due to the relaxing drink. Is it really normal though?
